LA, Vegas, Bryce and Zion Trip

This week long trip to LA, Vegas, Bryce and Zion was full of excitement and to explore one of the world’s most beautiful places, which was Bryce Canyon and Zion (The Virgin Narrows). When my family and myself arrived in the world of entertainment in LA,  I just met with my uncle and his family in Torrence, LA. I was able to visit the beach near Torrence and see millions of people just enjoying the sun and swimming in the ocean. As I was eating dinner at a local Japanese restaurant, I never experienced the waiter asking our table for a 10% discount if we paid with cash instead of a credit card. That sounded kind of awkward since that usually doesn’t occur in a typical restaurant setting, however that kind of comment can end up getting the waiter fired from his job. When I was in Universal Studios, I was able to learn how some of the most famous movie directors, production designers and filmmakers have created award-winning movies, i.e. Jurassic Park, King Kong, Mummy series, Fast and Furious, Sing and the Secret Life of Pets.” I enjoyed the rides and watching two shows at Universal Studios, i.e. Waterworld and Universal Studios Animal Actors. Once we were finished with LA, my family drove to  Sin City for just a day and chose to dine at Red Rock Casino and Spa. The food was alright, but I wasn’t traveling to Sin City just to gamble my money away on the boring slot machines. My sister and her husband were able to receive a ride to hike two beautiful and iconic canyons that are both considered as one of the Seven Wonders of the World-Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park. As my family was approaching Bryce Canyon, my family wanted to capture the beauty of the sunrise appearing over Bryce Canyon at 6am in the morning. I was able to  capture the essence of the sunrise and how Bryce Canyon symbolized an actual amphitheater for a concert. Later on that day, my mom wanted to visit several of the other viewpoints of the canyon, i.e. Sunrise, Inspiration and Fairyland Point. Sunrise Point was the best viewpoint because I was able to view a different perspective of the canyon, capture some photos and walk on what once rose from the ground millions of years ago during the dinosaur era. My sister wanted to visit a specific canyon known as Escalante. When we arrived at Escalante, we were  all unsure about the actual location to access the slot canyon and the caves. We hiked through a swamp full of horse manurer, which lead to a dead end. Since we were unsuccessful to discover the canyons, we decided to drive to Zion National Park and hike through The Virgin Narrows. During the drive to Zion National Park, my amazement of Bryce Canyon immediately changed because of how the facade of the canyons were vastly different than Bryce. I also enjoyed stopping at certain places on the highway to capture some photos of Zion National Park. I was just really glad there were actual restaurants and other nice looking shops, especially a small town like Zion. My sister suggested to utilize water shoes that were available at Zion Outfitters, which was a major help while traveling through knee high water and walking over rocks.

While I was hiking through Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park, I was able to appreciate how we should always appreciate how nature has this sense of ability to satisfy how we view the world around us. I was watching a historical movie about the historical development of Bryce Canyon before hiking through Sunrise Point. The movie mentioned that when the dinosaurs were roaming the Earth, the titanic plates broke apart and then the canyon rose up to the Earth. I was also amazed at the geology of the rocks, development of iron and sulfur in the canyons and how those two iconic canyons were the best places for photographs.  I would definitely love to return and capture more of what Zion National Park and The Virgin Narrows has to offer to billions of people around the world.
